training of professional firefighters is an integral part of the activities of the fire department. This article analyzes the information provided by the territorial bodies of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the constituent entities of the Russian Federation in terms of fires that occurred at different categories of objects. It is hypothesized that the number of fires studied by fire decision makers influences the fire parametric indicators (S_fire). In addition to the hypothesis, criteria for assessing the optimal number of fire analysis classes and fires under study in fire departments are proposed, and an algorithm is proposed for determining the number of fires under study from a large array of data, based on one of the mathematical theories, allowing to determine the sufficiency of management influence on the lesson planning process on professional training of fire departments in the fire and rescue garrison
