The problem of fire safety is an urgent task for all facilities, but the issue of protecting buildings and structures with a mass stay of people is especially acute, Statistical data emphasize the need to find new tools and solutions. The paper discusses effective means for notification and evacuation. It is proposed to introduce new evacuation systems that will allow the evacuation of more people and minimize the number of deaths. The problem of the lack of illumination on the escape routes, their poor visibility in a smoky space, is being solved. Options for autonomous warning systems are being considered, including solutions based on cellular communications or independent radio channels. A comparative analysis of promising evacuation systems has been carried out. Modernization of evacuation systems can be implemented through modeling, software tools that implement automated evacuation calculation in accordance with an individual flow model are considered in detail, in which the density of human flows on evacuation routes is determined and the throughput of exits is estimated. One of the programs that allows such calculations is Pathfinder, which, together with the Pyrosim program, is part of the Firecat software package. The human movement model implemented in Pathfinder corresponds to the above-mentioned methodology. The Pathfinder program allows you to use the building geometry created in Pyrosim for fire modeling for 3d evacuation modeling, which seems effective and appropriate when solving the problem of evacuation modeling, including for buildings with complex layouts
