The article considers the issues of ensuring electrical safety in the premises of the bases of the gas and smoke protection service. Compressor units are sources of potential danger of electric shock to the GDZS master at the workplace. The causes of injury may be leakage currents on the installation body caused by loosening of the contact connections due to vibration of the equipment and aging of the insulation during prolonged operation, increased temperature, humidity, or deviations in the rated voltage values. Also, the appearance of leakage currents on the conductive parts of the equipment results in increased power consumption. Based on a review of the regulatory requirements for occupational safety and health applied to premises and structures on the territory of the fire and rescue unit, it was concluded that insufficient attention was paid to ensuring electrical safety in the premises of the GDZS bases. An analysis of domestic publications in the field of protection of electrical networks from leakage currents allows us to recommend safety shut-off devices and differential current circuit breakers of appropriate ratings. In order to justify the choice of the required protection device, leakage currents were calculated for cable lines and stationary electrical equipment used on the basis of GDZS. Technical solutions have been proposed that can be used in the development of state regulatory requirements for occupational safety and electrical safety requirements for buildings, production and office premises of a fire and rescue unit
