PECULIARITIES OF CONSTRUCTION AND OPERATION OF MODERN FIRE-FIGHTING AERIAL LADDERS IN RUSSIA

Abstract:
The article is devoted to modern technical solutions used by domestic manufacturers in the manufacture of fire-fighting aerial ladders (AL). The article considers the design features, including sub-frame, providing increased strength and stability, as well as innovative solutions in the system of supports and platforms. The design of cradles, hydraulic systems, control and safety systems including remote control, automatic horizon control and accident prevention are analysed in detail. Special attention is given to the functions of AL operation in crane mode and safety compliance during operation. The article also considers the systems of heating and cooling of hydraulic fluid, the use of modern hydraulic pumps and the use of high quality oils. Prospects for the development of automated control systems and increased functionality, including the introduction of new electronic solutions and alternators, are highlighted. The conclusion emphasises the importance of AL for fire and rescue units, despite the development of alternative high-altitude systems. The paper emphasises that despite the development of alternative technologies such as drones and aerial platforms, ALs will remain in demand for a long time to come due to their reliability and adaptability. The study is based on examples of products from companies demonstrating progress in the field of rescue equipment in the Eurasian Economic Union
