Thousands of fires occur worldwide every year for various reasons. Various emergency services are responsible for responding to them, but when extinguishing fires, a person is negatively affected by a variety of factors that can lead to serious illness and even death. Also, fighting fires involves performing heavy physical work, so there is a high level of injury among firefighters, which, like the occurrence of fires, cannot be completely avoided, but they can be minimized. The article analyzes the factors influencing the injuries of firefighters. As a result, it was revealed that a firefighter must have a high level of psychological stability in order to minimize injuries during fire extinguishing. It was also revealed that one of the main factors influencing the stress tolerance of firefighters are mental and physical health, the effectiveness and literacy of management decisions, as well as the moral and psychological situation in the family. The positive mental health of firefighters has a positive effect on the quality of their work. Employees who have mental health problems perform worse in their job responsibilities.
