If there is a threat of exposure of dangerous fire factors to people, or if they are directly affected, the process of forced movement of people from the building to the outside, using rescue equipment, is paramount for fire departments. However, in addition to the panic and chaotic movement of people during a fire in a building, there is a fear of using rescue equipment from a height, due to the fact that people are unfamiliar with the tactical and technical characteristics, the principle of operation and the features of certain rescue devices. In this regard, there is an increasing need to develop virtual simulators and algorithms for practicing fire rescue actions using an immersive environment. In this article, the authors consider a description of the hardware and software architecture of a virtual simulator using a digital twin of a sectional rescue device, a functional model of the virtual simulator, which is based on a graphical description of the designed system, reflecting its structure and functions, as well as an algorithm for practical development by people of skills and abilities to carry out the rescue process in the event of a fire in a building with appropriate training modes
