In the Russian Federation, fire safety regulations define the required fire resistance limits for the supports of technological equipment / tanks and equipment support structures at oil and gas facilities as deterministic values, while the possibility of using alternative approaches, including based on the duration of the fire, is not implemented in Russian regulations. One of the alternative methods is detailed [7], which is widely used by international companies when determining the need for passive fire protection. On the basis of one of the methods, using the example of a real technological module, the calculation of the time of a fire of a hydrocarbon spill was carried out depending on the amount and type of combustible substances in the technological containers, taking into account the different spreading area of the product. Based on the results of calculations, the time indicators of the duration of the fire were determined. The obtained values can be used as the time of an equivalent fire for further solving issues of fire resistance rating of structures of supports of technological equipment and equipment support structures
